The son just came over and said, "Mom, I need to borrow your van." As I handed him the key, I was tempted to say, "You mean that piece of junk." See....just this past Friday, he drove over to Atlanta to purchase that platinum and diamond ring at Tiffany and Co. for what we hope will be our new daughter-in-law and he said he didn't want to drive my van because it's a piece of junk. And it cost less than the ring he was purchasing....and he did drive his blazer. But today, he wants to go to Lowe's and get something for their house and that obviously required a different vehicle....a junker, if you will. Well, the piece of junk has served our family well and it continues to run when some of the newer and nicer stuff won't get the job done. I guess my old van and I are pretty much the same.....got a lot of miles on us. But then we also have many good qualities left....we're both paid for. God gave his only son for me and I'm just blessed to be here. Merry Christmas and God Bless each one through-out the New Year.
